The Carpet Cleaning Guy FAQ's

Why should I choose The Cleaning Cleaning Guy?

We are a family run hard floor cleaning and restoration and carpet cleaning business, passionate about providing a service to our customers which exceeds expectations every time.

Through continuous investment in our high specification equipment and ongoing training program, you can feel safe in the knowledge that your valuable home furnishings are in safe hands.

We are Members of the NCCA (National Carpet Cleaning Association) and are trained to meet their standards.

We are also covered by Public Liability and Treatment Risk insurance to work on your furnishings.

Why should I use The Carpet Cleaning Guy and not rent a machine from a supermarket or DIY store?

We use methods which meet the standards of the NCCA to clean your carpets and get them dry as quickly as possible.

The Hot Water Extraction Machine, along with the use of professional chemicals and agitation, uses a combination of high water pressure and powerful suction to get hot water deep into the carpet which is instantly retrieved, taking soilage with it. The result is clean and fresh carpets which can be put back into use sooner.

The Hot Water Extraction cleaning method is recommended by most carpet manufacturers. We can provide results which are of a significantly higher standard of what can be achieved using a rental machine.

What happens when I first make contact with The Carpet Cleaning Guy?

From first contact, we will listen to your needs to understand your requirements.

All queries can be different so we want to be sure we capture as much information as possible so we can begin planning the solution. We will also be able to answer any initial questions you may have.

Once we have taken all necessary details, we will then arrange a visit to your property so we can conduct a site survey on the items to be cleaned. The date and time will be scheduled to suit your convenience and will be followed up with an e-mail as confirmation

Why is the site survey so important?

The site survey is important for many reasons -

  • Identifying the carpet construction is crucial to ensure the right cleaning method is chosen before any work takes place. This is completed via a controlled burn test to identify the fibre and a visual inspection of the carpet backing.
  • Environment analysis is key to locate any areas of concern, high traffic areas and any spots, spillages or stains which may require special attention
  • Accurate measurement of the area to be worked upon. This will enable a set-price to be provided - this price will not increase so you can rest assured there will be no hidden costs on the day.
  • Walk-through to confirm you are happy with the proposal and the opportunity for you to ask any questions before you agree to any work taking place on your furnishings.

A copy of the survey and quotation will be shared as soon as possible via e-mail for your reference

How much will my clean cost?

An accurate price for a clean can be provided following a site visit. This will enable a detailed inspection to take place and allow for the attainment of precise measurements so there are no hidden costs.

How long after the clean will I be able to use my furnishings?

Drying time depends on many conditions, including how soiled the item was, how much water was used, weather conditions, indoor atmosphere, etc. However, in most normal cases, carpets and soft furnishings should be dry within 6 hours.

We do have equipment to circulate the air which can significantly reduce drying times.

Are the cleaning solutions you use safe for my family and pets?

Health and safety is of paramount importance. Professional cleaning solutions are tested for their effects on the environment and occupants of areas in which they will be used. We will also ensure that the relevant safety procedures are followed during the cleaning process.

It is highly recommended that children and pets stay off of a damp carpet until it is completely dry, this will help prevent slip and fall hazards as well as tracking in fresh soil.

Are you insured?
